Meet the People Behind Legacy Safe

Legacy Safe was founded by husband-and-wife team Dave and Kristen Riley. Dave is an experienced small business owner, and Kristen brings nearly 30 years of expertise in both construction and technology. The inspiration for Legacy Safe began when Kristen served as the executor of her mother’s estate in 2015. Although her mother had clearly outlined her wishes, her assets were scattered across filing cabinets, safety deposit boxes, and desk drawers. That experience revealed just how difficult it can be to manage a loved one’s affairs—even with planning.



Motivated to simplify this process for others, Kristen and Dave envisioned a secure, cloud-based solution that empowers individuals, couples, and families to organize and access vital information with ease. Legacy Safe was created with the everyday user in mind, combining an intuitive, user-friendly interface with secure, modern functionality. By helping reduce the need for paper-based storage, Legacy Safe also supports a more eco-conscious approach to legacy planning.
